| The ninth chapter in the Ultima saga is a
completion of sorts - the end of a "trilogy of trilogies", as it
were. Tentatively named Ascension, the plot begins with the
Avatar's successful reentry into Britannia at the end of Ultima
VIII. But this is not the Britannia we remember: during the
Avatar's departure, the Guardian has conquered this land, and made
it his own. Unfortunately (or perhaps, fortunately!) Origin has
revealed few details of the plot as yet. For now, all we have are
screen
shots and the Ultima IX FAQ to
tide us over. Ultima IX is currently being targeted for the end of
1998 - here's hoping they make it. |
